Installing interlocking garage floor tiles is one of the most satisfying DIY projects you can tackle in a weekend. No special tools, no adhesive, and no professional help required. Here’s exactly how to do it.
Before You Start
- Sweep and clean the concrete surface (doesn’t need to be perfect)
- Measure your garage dimensions and plan your tile layout
- Allow tiles to acclimate to room temperature for 24 hours
Step 1: Start from One Corner
Begin installation from the far-left corner of your garage. Place the first tile with the loop edges facing the walls and the peg edges facing the center of the room.
Step 2: Connect Tiles Row by Row
Align the pegs of the next tile with the loops of the installed tile. Press down firmly with your foot or use a rubber mallet for a tight connection. Work in rows from left to right.
Step 3: Install Edge Ramps
Once all full tiles are placed, snap on beveled edge ramps along the garage door opening and any exposed edges. These create a smooth vehicle transition and a clean finished look.
